Description
It is a grass with characteristic teardrop-shaped cones, after which it got its popular name. The bare or slightly hairy sheath has grown almost to the top, and the leaves are short and soft.
In the past, it was a common grass in Slovenian meadows, but today it is slowly disappearing due to fertilization. It thrives most often in swampy locations on poor ground.
