			Description
			The leaves are yellow-green, the stem under the inflorescence is rough. The leaves are 2 to 5 mm wide, rough, the sheaths light brown. Two to four female spikes are together or spaced from the lower spike. The male classic is sessile or with a short stalk. The lower supporting leaf is longer than the inflorescence. The fruit is 5 to 7 mm long, grooved, yellow-green, has a 0.5 to 2.5 mm long beak. It grows on marshy meadows and at springs from the lowlands to the Montana belt.
