Description
Shoot growth is left-handed. The trunk can reach up to 20 cm in diameter. It grows very fast and needs support to grow in height. Lichopernate compound leaves are 25 to 30 cm long and consist of 7 to 13 oblong pointed leaflets. The leaves are 5 to 8 cm in size. The flowers are bluish-purple, grouped in clustered inflorescences up to 30 cm long and fragrant.
It blooms in spring and less intensely in early autumn. The fruits are hairy pods with flat seeds. It grows well on all types of well-drained soils that are fresh and rich in nutrients. It grows well on acidic soils. It needs full sun, lots of heat and shelter from the wind. Frost tolerates well.
