While walking with short and swift steps, the grey wagtail wags its rather long tail. The whole family of wagtails got the name because of this characteristic.

			Description
The grey wagtail likes to keep to the vicinity of livestock and when they graze, it feeds on the insects attracted by the livestock.
The grey wagtail has a longer tail and shorter legs compared with other wagtails. It is recognised by the grey-coloured back and yellow feathers on its underside.
Today, this species most often nests along fast mountain streams, exceptionally in settlements, if a stream flows through them. In the winter half-year, it also keeps to lakes and ponds.
