Description
In summer, the male has a black head, trimmed with a white collar. The back and the wings are dark-brown and black. It has a uniformly dark tail. In winter, the male is brighter, with less redness on the chest and less pronounced stripes. The wings are short, because it only flies short distances. The female is much brighter than the male and has a dark-grey head.
