Description
The penduline tit can be observed at wetlands. It is a small bird with a black "cover" over the eyes that feeds in the reeds. The males have a chestnut-brown back, a bluish-grey head and a black mask over the eyes. The females have more pale upperparts of the body and a light mask over the eyes. They feed on small insects, spiders and seeds.
The penduline tits are most easily recognized by their typical ‘seeeoou’ call, and they can be spotted in densely overgrown swamps, on banks and embankments. In Slovenia it is a rare year-round species.
