Features
Their name can be a bit misleading as these birds are rarely found in marshes. Instead, they prefer wilder, leafy and mixed forests with oak and beech trees. We can also see them sitting on solitary trees in fields, in hedges, in cemeteries, and in larger gardens.

Description
The feathers of the marsh tit are greyish brown on the upper side, head, back, and underchin though the bird has a black sheen. Below, they can be either dirty white or gray, creamy brown on their sides, and grayish-black under their necks. Their beaks are black, their wings are rounded, and their legs are dark. Marsh tits have a more opaque black hat than the adults. The males and females look alike. In Slovenia, it is a common species that can be spotted year round. Their winspan measures from 18 to 19 cm.
