Features
The stock dove is the only European pigeon that nests in cavities such as those in old trees. They can be found in places where forests, fields and meadows intersect.

Description
They are gray or brown with a glossy green stripe on their heads and necks. The legs are short and red. Males and females cannot be told apart by appearance alone.
They nest in forests and feed mostly in meadows and fields. They may have up to three litters every year. In winter, part of the population is likely to move to the Mediterranean. Their wingspan is 65 cm.
