Description
The top of the willow warbler's body is greenish-brown and the whole lower part is pale-yellow. The willow warbler's most notable feature is a long, yellow stripe above the eyes. At first glance, it is very similar to the common chiffchaff from which it is most easily distinguished by a more noticeable stripe above the eyes, light legs (the common chiffchaff has black legs) and a stronger and lighter beak.
The willow warbler nests in bright leafy and mixed forests, willow bushes and birch stands. It winters in tropical western and southern Africa. It is a rare summer species in our country.
