Description
The great reed warbler measures from 16 to 20 cm in length and has a wingspan of between 25 and 30 cm. Its singing is very deep, loud and can be heard far away. Its nesting place are the reef beds along lakes, ponds and rivers. It is located in central and southern Africa, and in Slovenia it is a locally common summer species.
It feeds on larvae of insects, moths, dragonflies, beetles, spiders, small fish and small frogs.
