Features
The Eurasian tree sparrow is somewhat similar to the house sparrow, but it is distinguished from the latter by the white neck, chestnut-brown crown and a much smaller head. These sparrows keep to themselves and are not as noisy as house sparrows.

Description
The Eurasian tree sparrow has a brown crown and a black dot on each cheek, and the sexes do not differ from one another. The Eurasian tree sparrow is found on richly structured fields with slopes, on forest slopes and the outskirts of towns, in villages, on solitary farms and in parks. They only rarely visit bird-feeders and prefer to look for seeds on the ground.
In Slovenia, this is a very common year-round species.
