Description
Several species are known to be difficult to distinguish from each other. It appears in open places almost everywhere, but always in small numbers. On bare ground, they collect clayey or sandy soil and moisten it with saliva and water, and from it build about 1 cm of an oval chamber with a collar-like neck about 1 cm wide opening. He then sticks an egg to the ceiling of the chamber and then pushes a narrow caterpillar (mostly pedicels) into the chamber. Finally, he breaks off the edge of the collar and blocks the opening with soil.
