Description
It occurs mainly in sparse forests and gardens; not uncommon in some places. Hornet nests (osirji?) are inhabited only in the summer half of the year. The nest is designed in the spring by a fertilized female (new queen) that has survived the winter. In a dark place he makes a small nest consisting of only a few breeding chambers. In them, very small females with stunted genitals first develop. With their help, the osir? and the abundance of the family increase rapidly. Hornets are timid and are aggressive to humans only in the immediate vicinity of the nest.
