Description

It occurs in stagnant waters, especially those where there is a lot of reed. It is mostly not uncommon in Central Europe. Adult animals overwinter among vegetation. It lays its eggs in the spring below (from March onwards) in pairs in dead plant parts floating on the water, including rushes.
