Description
The male has grayish feathers and a black hat beneath which they are greyish white. The female is more greyish with a red hat beneath which they are beige. The beak and the legs are gray. During the spring and when they takes care of their young, the blackhead mainly feeds on insects and spiders, and, in the summer, they also eat berries and fruit. They reach their highest density in lowland forests, humid mixed forests and shady parks. The wingspan of adult birds ranges from 20 to 23 cm.
