Description
Adult squacco herons are light brown in color on their backs, while their wings are white, which can be seen when they are in flight. Their beaks are long and grayish and their legs are orange. Their long brownish "ponytail" made from the feathers on their necks is typical for the heron. They live and hunt in solitude. They most often hunt from the reeds just above the water.
