Description
Quite common on sunny forest edges and on dry stony soils. Adults feed on the leaves of willows and other deciduous trees and herbs. The female, near the forest ant anthill, individually packs the eggs in a shell made of scaly pieces of excrement. What mm large formations resemble cones. It drops these envelopes in front of the anthill and so the ants can take it to the anthill as a building material. The developed larva builds a house out of scaly excrement, which it carries through the anthill's nest, where it feeds on the ant's brood. He protects himself from ant stings by hiding in his house.
