The song thrush is a 25 cm singing bird from the thrush family. They are active during the daytime and mainly feed on snails, earthworms, adult insects and their larvae. In the autumn and winter, when animal food is lacking, the song thrush enjoys the fruits of certain plants.

Description

You can recognize them by their gray, brown backs and bright sides of their abdomens, which are speckled with black spots. Their heads, napes, backs and wings are a uniform gray brown; they have a whitish neck, throat, chest and abdomen adorned with black spots from triangular to heart shaped. The whiteness of their abdomens, hips and throats slightly displaces their ocher coloring, which is typical of the inside of the underside of their wings. The habitat of the song thrush are the wet, mixed and leafy forests with lush undergrowth though they also live in the open countryside, covered with hedges. They like to announce their presence through evening song.
