Features

The wingspan is 6 to 7 cm. The wings in males have a broad dark spot and are greenish translucent in front of and behind the spot. The wings in females are greenish toned. The caudal growths in larvae have two light transverse stripes, the middle leafy process is wider than the other two.

Description

It appears mainly along larger and slow-flowing waters, also in drainage channels and ditches with almost standing water. In Central Europe, it is widespread only in sunny habitats, quite common in many places.
