The fieldfare is the most colourful representative of the thrush family. It moves from the coldest parts in the north, and is therefore much more common in Slovenia in winter. In winter, they are one of the most frequent representatives of the thrushes in Slovenia.

Description
The head and coccyx of the fieldfare are gray, the back and the wings are brown, the tail is black, the throat and the chest are yellow brown with darker spots, the abdomen is white, and males and females cannot be told apart. They nest in mixed forests, parks and gardens in April, May, June and July. The bird fortifies its nest with mud and uses grass, moss, and roots, to build it, molding it with dry fine soft grass. Nutrition: earthworms, snails, insects, small reptiles, fruits, and strawberries. In the winter, they have a preference towards apples. These birds are active during the daytime. Their wingspan is 40 cm.
